This will be basically a short article with what you need to build the Aliexpress transmission line box. Actually, you don’t need much because that box is already made, you just have to glue it together and connect everything up. I’m guessing you are coming here from YouTube, if not, go ahead and watch the video beforehand.

The video presents two boxes, but I selected only the 3″ variant. Not because the 2″ variant is bad per-se. But it was a poor match for speaker – box. It was definitely a thing of chance, as I simply selected some speakers that will simply fit the box physically. The 3″ variant happened to fair better in terms of frequency response.

Parts list

First of all you will need the box. Which you will get from Aliexpress.

The speaker is the Peerless by Tymphany TC9FD18-08 Full-range Woofer. I can be found on Sound Imports or Parts Express. (affiliate paid links)

And that’s basically it. You do need some cables, but I guess you already have some around the house. Make sure they are not too thick as they need to pass through the small hole on the back.

Crossover

The crossover is a big word for this. A filter is more suitable. To be more specific, it’s a baffle step compensation circuit. It doesn’t do much it just flattens the response a bit. If you are not handy with the soldering iron don’t feel obligated to make this filter.
